The Manufacturing Institute (MI) and the ACCS will announce a new partnership at Calhoun Community College on Monday, deploying the MI's new AI Skills training for manufacturing across Alabama's community colleges.

Ingram State Technical College - ISTC, in partnership with the Alabama Bureau of Pardons & Paroles, conducted a ribbon cutting at its new Workforce Training Facility at the Perry County Probation and Parole Reentry Education Program (PREP) Center on Wednesday!

Ingram State is the sole correctional education provider in Alabama, prioritizing education and job training to give individuals the best opportunity for success and to lower the recidivism rate in Alabama.

ACCS Chancellor Jimmy Baker is the recipient of Manufacture Alabama's "Friend of Manufacturing" award!

"The ACCS is indeed a friend to Alabama manufacturing," - said Chancellor Baker.

Alabama’s community college system has played a difference-making role in preparing students of today for the actual jobs of tomorrow. That role was recognized this week by Alabama manufacturers.

Thus far, the ACCS is experiencing a a 1.9% increase over the final Fall 2025 headcount.

“We’ve got good management across the system that is giving people a good buy for their work, and they know that. That’s the genesis for increasing enrollment – it’s worth going to pay your money to get an education, or training," said ACCS Chancellor Jimmy Baker.

Neil Scott said there are 99,083 students enrolled in for-credit courses for the Fall 2026 semester, a 1.9% increase over Fall 2025.

ACCS Regional Workforce Director Jennifer Hall was among today's guest speakers at Reid State Community College, as the institution hosted a groundbreaking for its Campus Submarine Industrial Base (SIB) Facility Expansion Project.

At Reid State, the SIB initiative will include a remodel of both the welding and industrial electronics technology/maintenance buildings on campus.

Reid State is one of four Alabama community colleges to lead the $30 million investment funded by the U.S. Navy to modernize and expand maritime workforce training.
