BUT WAIT - THERE'S MORE... Logan Hardy went on a side quest to the Twister's Underground event hosted yesterday at 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu Decatur.

He faced a seasoned Black Belt, Pedro Jimenez, and not only was the match a success in it's own right (Logan said "I was able to to keep my limbs and consciousness so I'll count that as a win"), but after the match he also received some technical feedback from this highly experienced opponent.

Super blessed to watch Logan grow, and to see the encouragement he brings to everyone on the team as we share the mission to get

We share Logan's thanks to Pedro Jimenez for a great opportunity to grow, to Matt Elkins (Alabama Twisters) and Brandon Mccaghren (PGF World) for the platform to experiment, and to everyone internally who helps our team improve round after round!

Another successful Bible Study & BJJ event hosted by the fellowship of Mission on the Mats . Thank you to everyone who contributed, including our first time, and returning guests!

MORE THAN MEDALS 🏆 THE WILL TO OVERCOME

Yesterday, we competed at the Newbreed Jiu Jitsu Federation Alabama Championships with a team combining first timers and experienced athletes earning 25 individual awards along the way.

WHY I SAY MORE THAN MEDALS… 🏅

Winning isn’t just the medals, it’s the silent victories that occur in the process.

▪️ First time competitors having the courage to overcome fear and step into the arena

▪️ The competitors who maintain composure against poor sportsmanship, exhibiting the importance of character over clout.

▪️ The parent who steps up to lead by example and share an experience with their children only to be inspired by their children in return

▪️The athlete who overcomes a psychological hurdle and proves to themselves what their team already knew they were capable of accomplishing

▪️Embracing the challenge of competing in a higher age / skill division to ensure they are chasing constant growth as opposed to easy wins

Progress isn’t always measured in medals, but more importantly in developing the skills necessary to build long term success in all their endeavors, and having the love and support of a team dedicated to making each other better!

When Alabama thinks sports it’s always Elephants & Tigers, but for Submission Grappling it’s TWISTERS!
