We are proud to announce our five candidates for VES Student of the Year!

The Student of the Year selection process includes rigorous academic eligibility requirements, including grade point average (GPA) and LEAP assessment scores. These outstanding 5th grade students have demonstrated academic excellence throughout their elementary school years while also exemplifying the character, leadership, and responsibility of a Yellow Jacket.

We are incredibly proud of their accomplishments and wish each of them the best as they participate in the selection process!

Our Garden Club has been busy getting their hands dirty! Students planted cilantro and beets in one garden bed and carrots and mustard greens in another.

Our 3rd grade students are learning about measuring liquid volumes in milliliters and liters, so they made a vertical number line on a 2-Liter bottle by adding 100 mL at a time and marking tick marks on their bottle at each interval.

It’s What Are We Learning? Wednesday and our Pre-K students are learning to bring stories to life through dramatic play! 🐺

By acting out the story, The Three Little Pigs, our youngest learners practiced sequencing events, recalling story details, and developing oral language skills.

Who knew building literacy skills could be so much fun?! 💛🐝
