This week our room has been filled with cozy corners, quiet pages turning, and imaginations running wild. Some were stretched out on the carpet, others tucked into comfy spots, all enjoying the gift of reading and a little time to just be still.
We were also blessed to have some special guest readers join us! There is something so powerful about hearing stories shared by new voices,it reminds our students that reading isn’t just something we do at school… it’s something we carry with us for life.
So thankful for a classroom where curiosity grows, stories come alive, and a love for reading continues to bloom.

Run free, Slinky. Once a classroom companion — forever a part of our hearts. 🐾
Our upper elementary students have been busy exploring Delightex.edu (cospaces) this week learning how to navigate the platform, build scenes in the “playground,” and even try their hand at coding interactive elements.
What starts as dragging shapes and designing little worlds now… will soon turn into full collaborative VR projects!
4th Graders will be recreating a scene from a novel they are currently reading in class ,bringing literature to life through immersive storytelling.
5th Graders will be choosing from several themed design challenges and collaborating to build their own virtual world from the ground up.
This is project-based learning in action: creativity + problem solving + digital design + teamwork… all wrapped in one awesome experience! Stay tuned , the worlds they build are going to be amazing! ✨

Forest Avenue Read-A-Thon Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.
Our 1st and 2nd graders are on their way to becoming keyboard pros!
This week in the technology lab, they practiced using the correct fingers for each key—no more “hunt and peck” typing! 👆➡️⌨️ It’s amazing to see their little hands hard at work, building the skills that will make them faster, smarter, and more confident on the keyboard.
Way to go, future typing champions!

👣 Our kindergarteners are starting their journey as digital citizens! This week, we are learning about digital footprints, the little “marks”we leave behind when we use technology. To make the idea fun and visual, students are coloring their very own paper footprint while talking about how to make safe and positive choices online. It’s never too early to start learning that our actions online leave a trail, and these kiddos are off to a great start!
