So fun celebrating a birthday and homecoming this week!
Some of the cutest future Montgomery Bears! Goooo BEARS!
We did a visualization activity where the class had to listen to a poem about a green monster and draw it without seeing what he looked like. They listened for clues in the poem and added details to their pictures based on what they imagined he looked like. 💚
Cute little Astros fans! Root root root for the HOME TEAM!
We won the PTA pizza party for Kindergarten. Thank you PTA and parents from our class who joined. This was a very quiet 10-15 minutes as they all enjoyed their pizza so much!
Lighting it up red for dyslexia!

MRE is putting a new spin on things with competitions related to various aspects of school! Attendance, fundraising, preparedness for school, participation in special days and MORE!
We are kicking off this competition with the PB&J drive! Students will find out Friday during our BELIEVE & ACHIEVE rally if their class is Team Believe or Team Achieve. Each homeroom will collect as much jelly (plastic jars only) for their ‘team’ and the winning team will win big! And HOPEFULLY we’ll help the Bears win big!!!!!
So…add some jelly to your grocery order if you can! We can’t wait to kick off this fun new incentive!
Patriots Day! We are thankful for our first responders.
The next time they are offered chocolate they might ask, “What kind?” Tasting lab for the five senses. They had no idea there was bitter chocolate. “I Love Chocolate!” “This is yucky!” “I like better chocolate than this!” “I think this is NOT GOOD!”
Our Five Senses lab was fun! We looked at cool photos in the viewers, listened to see which sounds were in the eggs, smelled scents to determine if we liked them and felt mystery cups and guessed what was in them. The tasting part was so much fun. We tasted sour (pickles), salty(potato chips), bitter (chocolate) which we thought would be sweet lol , and then tasted sweet (marshmallows). Some of the looks I got from giving them the chocolate were priceless. Almost all spit it out immediately. I love learning with these precious kiddos!
Purple and gold for our Montgomery Bears, popcorn for our 5 Senses Lesson and a little Reading Horizons on the iPads.
Science tool fun! Who doesn’t love wearing goggles for an experiment? We also loved using magnifying glasses to look at the plants in the outdoor classroom and droppers inside to make colorful drops on coffee filters.
The wheels on the bus go round and round! We had a fun day reading about, drawing and eating school buses.
We love our learning stations.
We’ve had so much fun at recess this week. Hoping for cooler weather, so we can keep going out.
Today is the third Thursday! We wear college shirts on the third Thursday! Which team do you pull for?
What a great couple of days it’s been. We are having so much fun meeting new friends and settling in. It’s gonna be an amazing year!

Fifth Grade Clap Out was a bit emotional this year. I taught these sweet fifth graders when they were in kindergarten. It’s sad to see them move on to junior high, but I know they will accomplish many great things. I missed pictures with many, but was able to catch these. 😍
It’s our graduation day! So proud of these kiddos, but sad to see them moving on to first grade. They will always have a place in my heart.
Two of our own were in the school wide talent show this week. We are so proud of them! Four represented Kindergarten and did an awesome job!
We researched dinosaurs this week! We made a book about dinos, did dino math, hatched some baby dinos and wrote about being a dinosaur! We pretended we were paleontologists and dug chocolate chips out of a cookie "fossil." 🍪 To end our week, we snuggled up to watch "The Land Before Time." 🦕
