The Oaks Cottage School | An outstanding three day a week K-12 education in the classical tradition.

This summer our student and faculty gathered to reconnect and meet new members of our Oaks’ community. It was a great way to prepare our hearts and minds for the new school year ahead. We look forward to welcoming parents tonight and students on Thursday! May the Lord be glorified as we purse living a virtuous life as we learn and grow together.

Mrs. Adams led our “little acorns” of our primary school in a project of acorn square art. She also led the completion of the fourth grade triptychs which showed the progression of their growth in self portraiture from the beginning of the year to the end. “For art is not just what we see, But all the things we long to be. A song of hope, a silent cry, that catches breath and learns to fly.” Unknown

Mrs. Crocker led her final water coloring class in a still life painting of sunflowers. 🌻 “Ah! sunflower, weary of time,
Who countest the steps of the sun, Seeking after that sweet golden clime. Where the traveller’s journey is done…” William Blake

Our kindergarten graduates beautifully recited songs, poems, scriptures, and chants to provide us a glimpse into a Day in the Life of a Kindergartener. Traditionally, they receive an acorn pin to represent their beginning of their academic journey at The Oaks with the prayerful hope they grow to become oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord. Congratulations Class of 2038!

Congratulations to the Class of 2026! We pray for you as you enter this next season. What a joy it has been to teach you and learn alongside you. Our Graduates Pledge, “As graduates of The Oaks Classical Cottage School, we commit ourselves to living faithfully and fully for the glory God. We devote ourselves to the fear the Lord, to walking in His ways, and never to bring reproach on the name of Christ. We commit to a life of duty and service to our family, church, and community. We strive to continue in our education, recognizing the great gift of the curious mind. We will rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances.”

Zz is for zoo! Our primary students have been studying new life this spring and our Junior Kindergarten just learned the letter Zz. It seemed a perfect time to make a visit to the zoo and enjoy all of the wild creatures God so uniquely design. “All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small, all things wise and wonderful; the Lord God made them all.” Cecil Frances Alexander
