WELCOME TO MONTGOMERY, COACH HINTON! 🏀

Huntingdon Men’s Basketball is excited to welcome new Assistant Coach Zach Hinton to the coaching staff!

Hinton comes to Huntingdon after spending the 2025-26 season at Hampden-Sydney, where he worked alongside Coach Carson Long and helped with recruiting, official visits, scouting reports, personnel, and team travel.

Prior to Hampden-Sydney, Hinton spent three seasons at William Peace University, serving as the Pacers’ head of recruiting while also handling scouting reports and player development. During his time in Raleigh, he recruited 2024 USA South Rookie of the Year Ryan Lominack and helped guide the Pacers to their first appearance in the USA South Conference Championship game.

With experience across recruiting, player development, scouting, operations, and creative media, Hinton brings a well-rounded background to Montgomery.

Welcome to the Huntingdon Family, Coach Hinton! 🦅

🏀 WELCOME TO HUNTINGDON, COACH LONG! 🦅

Huntingdon Men’s Basketball is excited to welcome new head coach Carson Long to Montgomery!

A native of Pilot Mountain, NC, Long joins the Hawks after spending the last three seasons at Hampden-Sydney, helping the Tigers make three straight NCAA Tournament appearances, win an ODAC Championship, and reach the 2024 National Championship game. During his tenure, H-SC produced 7 All-Conference selections, an ODAC Player of the Year, and 2 All-Americans.

Prior to Hampden-Sydney, Long spent one season at Ferrum College as the program’s recruiting coordinator and the youngest head assistant coach in the ODAC.

A former standout at Guilford College, Long was a 3-year captain and 3-time All-Conference selection, helping lead the Quakers to an ODAC Championship and NCAA Elite Eight appearance. He was also named Guilford’s Male Athlete of the Year and an ODAC Tournament MVP during his career.

Following Guilford, Long played professionally in Ireland for the Sligo All-Stars while serving with the Sports Changes Life program.

Welcome to the Huntingdon Family, Coach Long! 🦅🏀
