With the signing of the ‘Working for Alabama’ package by Gov. Kay Ivey, the state is ushering in a new era of economic growth and workforce development. The package aims to provide relief in areas that impact the workforce the most, including tax credits to make childcare more affordable and developing more affordable housing to offset the cost of living.

Economic workforce development has no legs without education being in the toolbox. The Alabama Talent Triad, powered by EBSCOed, supports this effort by making all learning count, ensuring that Alabamians can demonstrate the skills and credentials they’ve earned and learned to become more competitive in the job market.

This is Emily Cousins, a 2024 graduate from Park Crossing High School. She was accepted into six colleges and she decided to go to her first choice. She is planning to go to Coastal Alabama Community College for Veterinary Technology.

This is Antinique Portis. She is the daughter of Jacqueline Portis and the late Anthony Portis. She is a 2024 graduate at Park Crossing High School. After graduation, she plans to attend The University of Alabama to pursue her dream of becoming an Athletic Trainer. Her future career goal is to obtain a position with the National Football League and provide service to injured athletes.

Thanks to some of our FBLA Officers’ and our FBLA Advisor, Mary Pettway for heading up this Community Initiative to give to the Community Foodbank of Central Alabama!! We truly appreciate their hard work and dedication to serving our community!!
