In the words of the world’s best boss, Michael Scott - “Nifty”!!
These are some pretty cool custom legs Christian Frost cranked out after one month at the shop!
And no one told him to check the bench top with a light for swirl marks-he just does it!
He’s here until August, when he starts his Senior year at Auburn so give him something more challenging! For his fall semester he has to make a piece of furniture that he designs! Can’t wait to see what that will be!
We love what we do!

One of our favorite people to get a call from is Interior Designer Crystal Jester Walker. She brings so much knowledge and experience to her projects, and puts everything she has into making her customers homes truly beautiful.
This coffee table is a duplicate from a furniture store in Atlanta that we have made several copycat pieces from. There are some differences; our final price is always less, we have about a six week lead time instead of about 22 weeks, and we can make the size and color exactly what you want. (Also, this is a solid Walnut 1 3/4” top).
As seen in the second photo, the CEO had to help me out on the tricky, curved stringer! I couldn’t do it without her! We still have to apply stain and topcoats but the Walnut is beautiful and we hand picked the pieces for the top.
Let us know what you think!

We love working with local designers like Tara Ponti Sinco at Laura Dockery Design on dining tables and special pieces. This White Oak dining table with 22 degrees corners fits perfectly in this dining room overlooking beautiful Lake Martin.
The customer was so complimentary of the design, and the way it fit with the banquette on one end.
Tara and Laura chose the color from several samples. It is a Lenmar special brown, mixed up by Katie at New Look Benjamin Moore on Atlanta Highway.
To really enjoy your table, you need to decide the design, color and dimensions. That’s what “custom” is all about and that’s what we love to do!

We were so thrilled to be able to contribute to one of the most beautiful homes we have done custom work for. The new build, in Wetumpka, was built by Pine Creek builders and it is breathtaking inside and out.
We built Walnut butcher block countertops for the pantry and coffee bar, and a White Oak mantle and corbels for the den. (That week we built four mantles).
We are working on a White Oak, 10’ double pedestal table, which we believe will really help define the dining area! We can’t wait to deliver it and set it in place!
We primarily build dining tables, but sometimes we are absolutely the best choice for something custom.
Call us at 334-233-8138, or go to our website and hit the “Contact” tab, and let’s get your project on the books!

We are so excited to have Christian Frost building furniture this summer! Christian is a Senior in Industrial Design at Auburn and wants to design furniture as a career.
He really needs to help figure out what to do with the dozens of large curved pieces from round tables we’ve cut! He’s already got a design in mind for legs for a coffee table from the discard pile!
If you’d like to talk with him about your vision, he’d love to get the experience! And we would love to work to make it happen!

Ashley Griffith - Porch Light Real Estate reached out and asked us if we could take her countertop out of her old house and make a table for her porch. The countertop was made out of beautiful Maple, which had a lot of character.
Ashley picked the Maple legs from a vendor and we were able to make the rest of the table (the top, the apron, and the supports) from her “throw away” lumber.
We recently made outdoor furniture from some large Cedar columns that were a little rotten at the base.
If you have something that may be worth giving another life, send us an email! It’s a lot of fun seeing something that may be discarded transformed!

We won’t be at Longleaf much until Tuesday as we move out of the home we’ve lived in for 22 years!🥹
So, no time for new posts this week, but I discovered Chat GPT (finally) and asked it to put some of our tables in beautiful settings without changing the tables!
Honestly, a lot of our customers have more beautiful settings but sometimes we forget to take pictures!
We hope everyone has a great Memorial Day weekend and we pray for those who’ve have lost loved ones in defense of our great country!

We normally leave the cabinetry to the cabinet companies and stick to furniture, but when a VIP like Charla Jordan Baumgardner, owner of our neighboring business, Vivian Onay, asked for a wall unit for her son’s Man Cave, we had to oblige.
Charla sent us an inspiration photo and we took it from there, creating a 15’ wall unit, with a solid 15’ desktop that spans between the lower and upper cabinets.
Charla says that the store will hopefully reopen in the fall, and for us, it’s not a moment too soon! Everyone there is so helpful, and always steers me in the right direction when I’m shopping for Sylvia!
Thank you Charla for trusting us with your vision and we look forward to shopping with you soon!

If you’ve come by the shop to find that no one is here the past few weeks it’s because we have been welcoming two more Thompson grandsons into the world! One was born on April 15th and the other was born on April 30th.
We may be a couple of weeks longer on custom orders, since we will be traveling to Birmingham and Atlanta to hold, talk to, sing to, and enjoy these little men!
Also, fair warning, if you’re in the showroom and the little man in the third picture, helping his daddy build cabinets, FaceTimes Pops, then you’ll have to excuse me for a few minutes!
Everyone is doing great and God is surely so good!
