๐Ÿ•โค๏ธ No matter how you slice it, we have the BEST staff around! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ•

Today, our BES Summer Learning team took a moment to enjoy some pizza, laughter, and appreciation as we continue to LEVEL UP this summer! ๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿš€

A huge shoutout to Mrs. Goldsby, Mrs. Morris, Ms. Colvin, Mrs. Felder, Ms. Tucker, and Ms. Tempero for hosting this fun staff appreciation event and reminding us that great teams deserve to be celebrated! ๐Ÿ•๐ŸŽ‰

Special thanks to Ms. Wallace for leading an amazing professional development session, "Refilling Your Cup: Prioritizing Teacher Mental Health & Self-Care." โ˜•๐Ÿ’™ Her message encouraged us to take care of ourselves so we can continue giving our best to our students each day.

We are grateful for a summer staff that leads with heart, serves with excellence, and makes BES an incredible place to learn and grow.

๐ŸŽฎ๐Ÿš€ Week 1 of BES Level Up Summer Learning Academy was a blast! ๐Ÿš€๐ŸŽฎ

Our scholars powered up all week long! We kicked things off with Gaming Gear Day ๐ŸŽฎ, transformed into superheroes ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™‚๏ธ๐Ÿฆธโ€โ™€๏ธ, rocked our coolest sunglasses ๐Ÿ˜Ž, and wrapped up the week with Popsicles with Success! ๐Ÿญ๐ŸŽ‰

Most importantly, our students learned, grew, made positive choices, and continued leveling up every day. We can't wait to see what adventures and achievements Week 2 will bring!

Mrs. Lambertโ€™s fifth-grade class has been learning how to partition shapes into equal parts. To extend their understanding, scholars used paper plates to create 3D shapes while exploring how equal parts can be used to build dimensional figures. We are proud of their creativity, teamwork, and mathematical thinking as they bring geometry to life through hands-on learning! ๐Ÿ“๐Ÿ”ตโœจ

๐Ÿ“š๐Ÿ‹ 2nd Grade Enrichment Spotlight with Mrs. Henderson! ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿ“š

Our 2nd-grade enrichment scholars are diving into The Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies! To bring the story to life, Mrs. Henderson integrated a fun STEM experience where students made fresh lemonade and got to taste it as part of their learning.

Scholars explored how our sense of taste works and learned that the tongue can detect five basic tastesโ€”sweet, salty, sour, bitter, and umami (savory). They also discovered how smell and taste work together to help us experience flavors every day.

What a powerful hands-on lesson connecting literacy, science, and real-world learning! We are so proud of our young scientists for reading, exploring, and thinking deeply as they continue to level up this summer! ๐Ÿ‹๐Ÿ”ฌโœจ
