📚✨Read Across America Week Celebration!✨📚

We had an amazing time celebrating Read Across America Week at our school! A huge THANK YOU to the wonderful community members, family members, and friends who took time out of their day to come read with our students. Your presence helped make reading come alive in our classrooms and showed our students just how powerful and enjoyable books can be.

Our students loved hearing new stories, meeting new readers, and sharing their excitement for books. Moments like these help inspire a lifelong love of reading, and we are so grateful for the support of our community.

Thank you again to everyone who came out to read with us this week. You made a difference in the lives of our students! ❤️📖 We had Hyundai, ASU, Delta Sigma Theta, and New Light Worship Center to come out and read to our scholars for Dr. Seuss Week.

Tonight’s S.T.E.M night was a positive reaction! Thanks to everyone who helped make it happen! We’re so grateful for the amazing turnout and for the staff and parents who helped make this event possible. Thank you for supporting our students and making tonight unforgettable!”

District Attorney Azzie Oliver and her team visited Southlawn Elementary on Friday, October 3rd in support of the MPS Attendance Campaign to provide tickets to the Alabama National Fair for all 3rd grade students who had Perfect Attendance from the first day of school August 5th through September 26th. We are so proud of all of our excited 3rd graders who received this awesome reward for school attendance!!!!

We had a great time last night for Math and Literacy Night! We didn’t have a big turn out, but we did have an energetic one. We want to thank everyone who came out to support SES, our scholars, and staff!
