Lights, Cameras, River Otters! 🎥🦦

We had a wonderful time representing River Region Academy at the WSFA studio!

Mrs. Kris White and Mrs. Tracy Hendricks enjoyed the opportunity to share about our school, our students, and the exciting things happening at River Region Academy. We are grateful for the chance to connect with our community and highlight the difference that a caring, student-centered education can make.

Thank you, WSFA, for the warm welcome and for helping us share the River Region Academy story!

Countries around the world are beginning to ask a question many parents have been asking quietly for years:

“What happens when a developing brain is exposed to infinite stimulation before it develops self-control?”

➡️ The adolescent brain is uniquely vulnerable to reward-seeking behavior.

➡️ The prefrontal cortex, responsible for impulse control and long-term thinking, does not fully mature until the mid-20s.

➡️ During puberty, dopamine sensitivity increases dramatically, making social validation and novelty feel especially powerful.

➡️ Social platforms are not neutral environments. They are engineered attention systems designed to maximize engagement and time-on-platform.

Researchers are now tracking rising rates of:
• anxiety
• depression
• loneliness
• sleep disruption
• compulsive behavior
• attention problems

especially in the first generation raised fully inside smartphone culture.

This is not about fear.
And it is not about shame.

It is about understanding the biology of a developing brain inside systems built to override it.

A child’s nervous system was never designed to compete with billions of dollars of behavioral engineering.

➡️ The Chaos to Connection Guide shows you how to reduce screen conflict, create healthier boundaries, and regulate the nervous system underneath the meltdowns, shutdowns, and constant dopamine-seeking behavior.
