These hard-working ladies from Logistics gave up their Saturday and even their birthday celebrations to come out and help us get our building cleaned, organized, and ready for the FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! 🎉🏫

We want to give a very special Wares Ferry Thank You to Ms. Idelia Postell, Ms. Lakesha Harvey, Ms. Shantoria Harris, and Ms. Wanda Wilson for bringing the heart and the hands! Your dedication, sacrifice, and willingness to step up and help truly mean more than you know!

Thank you to their supervisor, Mr. Derrick Harvey, for always coming through when Wares Ferry needs him! We appreciate your continued support and partnership.

Tonight, Wares Ferry Road Elementary was filled with smiling faces, excited students, and parents trying to remember where every classroom was! We loved welcoming everyone to Meet the Teacher Night and are pretty sure the students were more excited than the teachers... well, maybe! Now that everyone knows where to go, let's get this amazing school year started! 🎉📚

The faculty and staff of Wares Ferry Road Elementary proudly joined colleagues at the 2026 MPS Convocation at Alabama State University to kick off a new school year. It was an inspiring time of celebration, motivation, and renewed commitment to providing every student with an exceptional educational experience. We are excited for an outstanding year ahead as we continue working together to help every student succeed!

What an amazing first day back for the Wares Ferry Road Elementary faculty and staff! It was wonderful to reconnect, collaborate, and begin preparing for a successful school year. Principal K. Miller and Assistant Principal Dr. C. Bettis shared important updates and information from Montgomery Public Schools to ensure we are well prepared for the year ahead. We look forward to working together to provide the very best learning experience for our students, families, and school community. Under our new leadership, we are moving in the right direction and are excited about the great things ahead for Wares Ferry Road Elementary.
