Today, we mourn the passing of The Honorable Karen S. Montgomery, an extraordinary public servant, devoted advocate, cherished member of the CSAAC Board of Directors, and dear friend to our community.

Karen dedicated her life to serving others, both through her distinguished career in the Maryland House of Delegates and State Senate and through her decades of unwavering commitment to CSAAC. Together with her husband, she was the loving parent of a CSAAC participant, bringing both personal understanding and passionate advocacy to our mission.

Her wisdom, compassion, and steadfast leadership helped shape our organization and touched the lives of countless individuals and families. Karen believed deeply in creating a more inclusive community where every person is valued, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

We are forever grateful for The Honorable Karen S. Montgomery’s remarkable life and the profound difference she made in our community. Her legacy will live on in the people she served, the families she supported, and the organization she helped strengthen.

Our individuals had an amazing time participating in the Montgomery Village Foundation 4th of July Parade! It was wonderful to see everyone dressed in their patriotic red, white, and blue, proudly representing CSAAC while waving to the community throughout the parade route. Their enthusiasm, smiles, and excitement made for a memorable morning.

It was a sweet day for CSAAC as we celebrated the ribbon cutting of Rita's Italian Ice, our newest Integrated Social Enterprise, in Derwood! ✂️🍧 This new venture represents growth, opportunity, and our ongoing commitment to expanding valuable food service experiences for individuals with autism in their communities. Thank you to our staff, families, partners, elected officials, and supporters who joined us in celebrating this exciting milestone.
