🍎 Have You Completed Your Free & Reduced Lunch Form?

MCE families are encouraged to complete and return their Free & Reduced Lunch form as soon as possible. Forms are accepted throughout the entire school year, but there’s a little extra reason to turn yours in early! 🎉

🎟️ Families who have submitted their form will be entered into a drawing the week of September 22!

Even if you aren’t sure whether your family will qualify, we encourage you to complete the form. Participation helps ensure eligible families receive available benefits and supports important programs within our schools.

📱 **Stay Connected with Your Child’s Classroom through Rooms!**

Home-to-school communication is important, and we want to make sure families stay connected to what’s happening in their child’s classroom.

**Classroom communication from your child’s teacher will come through Rooms in the Montgomery County R-II app.** Teachers will use Rooms to share important information, updates, reminders, and more throughout the school year.

We encourage all parents and guardians to take a few minutes to:

📲 **Download the Montgomery County R-II app** from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store
🔔 **Enable notifications** so you don’t miss important updates
🏫 **Check Rooms regularly** for communication from your child’s teacher

Taking these few simple steps will help keep you informed and connected throughout the school year.

🏫 **MCE Teacher Meet & Greet — Tomorrow Night!** 💙

We are excited to welcome our MCE families back to school for **Teacher Meet & Greet on Thursday, August 20!**

Come say hello to your teacher, visit your classroom, and get comfortable with MCE before the first day of school!

🕔 **Families with last names A–M:** 5:00 PM
🕕 **Families with last names N–Z:** 6:00 PM

While you're here, families can:

🎒 Bring school supplies to drop off in the classroom
🏫 Explore classrooms, hallways, and special areas
👋 Meet teachers and other MCE staff
🚌 **Verify your child's bus number and pick-up or drop-off times**
🤝 Visit tables and booths from our community partners offering resources, services, and opportunities for families

Our goal is for every student to leave feeling **confident, connected, and ready for a great first day!**

Please take a moment to review this important message from Superintendent Dave Samuel regarding dismissal procedures across Montgomery County R-II.

While the 2:00 p.m. deadline for dismissal changes is not a new practice at MCE, this procedure will now be implemented district-wide to help ensure a safe, consistent dismissal process for every student.

We encourage MCE families to communicate dismissal changes as early in the day as possible. Early communication gives our office staff and teachers the time needed to make sure everyone has accurate information before dismissal begins.

MCE families, make sure your child is fully registered TODAY so they can receive their Teacher Reveal Letter the week of August 17th! 💙✉️

Need help completing registration? We’re here for you! MCE staff will be available at the school until 8:00 PM tonight to assist families with the registration process.

🏫 Stop by MCE before 8:00 PM if you need assistance- be sure to bring a current proof of residency.

Need help registering your child for the upcoming school year? We're here to help! Join us on Tuesday, August 11, from 12:00–8:00 p.m. at your child's school, where staff will be available to assist families with the registration process. Be sure to bring your required documents, including a current proof of residency. We look forward to seeing you!

Only a few weeks left of summer! ☀️ Tuesday, August 25th is the first day of school for the Montgomery County Wildcats!
We are hard at work getting everything ready for our students.
Make sure you’ve completed enrollment by August 12th so you know who your teacher will be before the big day!

🎉📚 Back-to-School Season is Here! 🐾

The halls of Montgomery City Elementary are starting to come alive again, and we couldn't be more excited to welcome our Wildcat families back for another amazing school year!

Our office staff has been hard at work preparing important back-to-school information packets, which will be mailed out later this week. Be sure to keep an eye on your mailbox for everything you'll need to get ready for a fantastic start to the school year, including important dates, registration information, and helpful reminders.

We're also excited to share that MCE will once again provide school supplies for every student! Check out the graphic below to see the few personal items students will still need to bring.
