A reminder from Coach Hasekamp about middle school football.

Here are a couple of reminders as we approach the Montgomery County Middle School football season starting:

1. Sports physical has to be completed prior to practice starting on August 17th

2. Parent/ Player meeting on August 16th at 6:30 in the MS gym. All paperwork for the season will be handed out on this date.

Middle School Cross Country Practice Begins Monday!

Middle School Cross Country will begin practice on Monday, August 17th, from 4:00–5:30 PM. Students should arrive dressed in comfortable running/athletic attire and bring a water bottle.

Drop-off and pickup will take place at the middle school cafeteria doors. Parents/guardians should plan to pick students up promptly at 5:30 PM.

We are excited to get the 2026 Cross Country season underway and look forward to a great season for our runners!

FALL ACTIVITIES AND SPORTS INFO:

LOTS OF INFO HERE!

Below we have listed the Head Coaches for each Fall Sport & Activity. If you have any questions pertaining to a particular sport or activity see the list of coaches and contacts below.

1) HS Practices are allowed to start Monday August 10th. Locations and practice times will be decided by each program/Coach.

2) MS Practices are allowed to start Monday August 17th. Locations and practice times will be decided by each program/Coach

3) Current (up to date) Participation Physicals are required for all 7-12th grade activities including Marching Band. Physical forms and specific information about physicals can be found on the MCR2 Athletic Website. See link below

4) The goal is to have all Fall athletic schedules posted for release by August 9th. Several of the schedules are already posted on the website but I'm still waiting to complete HS/MS CC.

5) 14 completed practices are required before individuals are able to participate in a contest and you are not allowed to practice without a current physical filed with the Coach/School. Make sure physicals are up to date so you are not missing practices and contest!

6) HIGH SCHOOL Fall activity parent meeting will take place on Sunday August 9th at 7pm in the HS GYM. All those participating in a HS sport/activity and at least one Parent/Guardian are expected to attend. If you are not able to attend you need to contact your particular activity Head Coach AHEAD of the first practice date in order to collect any information needed before practices begin.

As we near the beginning our our 2026 MS football season, I have a couple of things to send out:

Next Tuesday we are walking in the fair parade again as the entire program 3rd grade through HS will be part of the Montgomery County Fair parade again this year. Parents need to drop kids off at the bratchers/tractor supply parking lot around 5:15/5:30 and the parade will start at 6:00. The parade ends at the entrance to the fairgrounds so please make a plan with your athlete for where to meet you after the parade ends!

Our MS camp is from July 28-30th from 6-8pm each evening. We will be working out times to do helmet fitting and other equipment checkout in prep for that, be on the lookout for a post on here or messages from the coaches in the Rooms feature of the MCR-II app.

**ALL incoming 7th graders as well as any new players in 8th grade will need a physical on file to start practice on August 17th. Athletes need 14 completed days of practice after physicals are on file to be eligible to play in week 1 game**
