🌟Celebrating Alumna Alyxandra Lucero!🌟

From earning her B.S. from the University of Montevallo in 2024, to completing her master’s degree in 2026, and then passing her RDN exam, Alyx’s Montevallo journey is one worth celebrating! 💜💛

As an undergraduate, Alyx was recognized as a Senior Elite Award winner, and she has continued to build on that foundation as a nutrition professional.

Today, Alyx serves as a WIC Dietitian with the Shelby County Health Department, providing nutrition education to pregnant women, infants, and young children.

When reflecting on her University of Montevallo experience, Alyx shared that her professors taught her the science of nutrition, but also how to communicate nutrition in a way that is accessible and meaningful to diverse populations.

We are so proud to see Montevallo Alumni like Alyx taking what they learned in the classroom and using it to make a difference in their communities. Congratulations, Alyx! 🎓👏

💜💛After Ole Miss’ big 🏈 32–24 win over LSU this weekend, we thought it was the perfect time to spotlight one of our own — University of Montevallo M.S. Exercise Science student Luke Mitchell!

Luke spent this summer in Oxford gaining valuable experience as a Football Strength & Conditioning Intern with Ole Miss, working alongside the team’s strength and conditioning staff and gaining firsthand experience in a high-level collegiate football environment.

A former University of Montevallo Athletics student-athlete, Luke has continued to make the most of every opportunity to learn, coach, and grow as a strength and conditioning professional. Now, he’s bringing that experience back to Montevallo as a Strength & Conditioning Graduate Assistant.

From Montevallo to Ole Miss, Luke is putting his education, experience, and passion for coaching into action. 💪

With Minor League ⚾️ finishing up, we wanted to feature one of our all-star University of Montevallo students who complete her Sport Science internship with the Montgomery Biscuits & Tampa Bay Rays!

Katlyn finished undergrad with >12 published conference presentations at American College of Sports Medicine and NSCA. She was the definition of a University of Montevallo Athletics - Student-Athlete and was all in on maximizing her learning experiences.

Katlyn is off to graduate school and college coaching!

There's nothing more rewarding than bringing together dedicated professionals who are passionate about preparing the next generation of registered dietitian nutritionists.

Thank you to our Coordinated Program Advisory Board members for joining us today for a wonderful luncheon and an engaging planning meeting. Your expertise, thoughtful discussion, and commitment to student success are invaluable as we continue to strengthen the Master of Science in Nutrition/Coordinated Program in Dietetics at the University of Montevallo.

As we prepare to welcome our second cohort, I'm thrilled to share that our program has experienced 200% enrollment growth since last fall. We continue to have a 100% pass rate on the RDN exam. This exciting milestone reflects the hard work of our faculty, the enthusiasm of our students, and the confidence our community has in this program.

I can't wait to see what this next year brings!
