Today, our students hosted a special prayer assembly in remembrance of the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001.

Middle schoolers shared Our Mother of Sorrows prayer cards with our student and family community. Then gave prayers of remembrance and honoring those who passed away that fateful morning and their families; who provided aide to others as civilians, first responders, the military, and organization officials; and who rose together to unite our community and country in healing and peace.

Our remembrance ceremony concluded with our school prayer to Saint Francis of Assisi, the Prayer for Peace.

As Arch Bishop Coakley said, “As we pray for our nation’s continued healing, for the souls of all those lost on that day and the comfort of their families, let us implore the Holy Spirit to conform us, increasingly, into the image of Jesus, the Prince of Peace, and together build a civilization of love and universal fraternity.”

We will never forget 9/11.

As a new school year begins, Bishop Ramón Bejarano welcomes back all students throughout the Diocese of Monterey—whether attending a Catholic, public, private, or home school. May each student know that they are loved by God, grow in wisdom and faith, and recognize the gifts the Lord has placed within them.

A joyful welcome back to our students and families and a wonderful welcome to our new Associate Pastor Father David, who presided over our celebration of the Assumption of our Blessed Mother Mary on Friday.

Fr. David reminded us in all that we do throughout our lives, remember to follow Jesus and seek help from Mother Mary.

The first day has been full of smiles, new friendships, laughter, learning, a well executed fire drill 🚒
and we’re just getting started!

Thank you to our wonderful Principal, Mrs. McKenzie, our incredible teachers and staff, our stellar room parents, families, and our students. It wouldn’t be the FIRST DAY without the magic that each of you brings to our community.

This week teachers returned to their classrooms, excited to start the new school year! Tuesday, our retreat focused on the “Doors We Open” for our students and community and the “keys” we hold and need to achieve these goals.

We are so excited to you in class next week!
We can’t wait to see what our students “unlock” for and within themselves this year. 💡 🔑
