💙 Grateful to be part of some GREAT news!

The MPC Foundation is honored to have our new Honor Grant Program featured in the GREAT WEEK section of our own local Monterey County Weekly newspaper. Swipe left to see some moments of last week’s press conference.

Thank you for shining a light on this exciting new initiative and, most importantly, on the students preparing to serve our communities as nurses, emergency medical technicians, and firefighters.

Through the brand new Honor Grant Program, $300,000 in support is helping 14 MPC students pursue these essential careers while easing some of the financial challenges that can come with completing their education.

We’re proud of our students. We’re grateful for our donors. And we’re excited to see where the Honor Grant Program goes from here! 🐺💙

MPC Foundation’s New Honor Grant Program

The last few weeks have been incredible at the MPC Foundation!
🎉 Our team has been working hard to launch an exciting new program designed to support our amazing students. We’re so excited to share what we’ve been building. Watch the video to hear how students are feeling real relief thanks to the financial support and how it’s making a difference in their lives!

The Honor Grant program is a bold new initiative supporting students in Nursing, Fire Technology, and Emergency Medical Services with up to $10,000 per academic year to help cover the costs of completing their education. After graduating and beginning their careers, recipients give back through monthly donations, creating a cycle of generosity that supports future students.

We recently completed our first application cycle where we received 27 applications from aspiring nurses and firefighters and interviewed 24 exceptional students. After thoughtful deliberation, we were able to award Honor Grants to 14 students (12 Nursing students and 2 Fire Science students). Choosing among such an outstanding group was no easy task, and it reinforced just how great the need is for this program.

In this round of student gratitude, MPC students share how scholarships are helping them worry less about money and focus more on music, human development, business, and fire service careers. In their own words, they talk about the confidence and breathing room your support gives them.
Thank you for investing in MPC students and giving them more space to focus on their education and their goals. 💛

💙 Supporting students when they need it most.
The MPC Foundation is grateful to receive a $10,000 grant from the Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation in support of our Women Supporting Women/Emergency Assistance program.

Unexpected financial challenges can create major obstacles for students working toward their educational goals. Emergency Assistance helps students navigate these difficult moments by providing support when emergencies arise, allowing them to stay enrolled and focus on their coursework.

This generous investment helps ensure that a temporary setback does not become a barrier to a student’s future. Thank you to the Peggy and Jack Baskin Foundation for helping MPC students continue their educational journeys with confidence and hope. ✨

After receiving their scholarships, MPC students wrote these words of gratitude to share what your support is changing for them and to thank the donors who made it possible.
In their own words, they talk about worrying less about constant financial pressure and more about nursing programs, engineering classes, psychology majors, and the futures they’re working toward.
Thank you for investing in MPC students and giving them more room to focus on their education and their goals. 💛

Thank You Rotary Club of Carmel-by-the-Sea Rotary Club of Carmel by the Sea for awarding the MPC Foundation a $7,500 Grant in support of the Evans College Incentive Program at Monterey Peninsula College.

Thanks to this grant and our other donors, we will be welcoming another 50 students into the program in the upcoming fall semester!

Learn more about Evans CIP:
The Evans College Incentive Program (CIP) isn’t just another scholarship—it’s a life-changing opportunity for students who might otherwise never make it to college. Established in 2015 with a generous lead gift from a local couple, CIP directly addresses the barriers that prevent many talented young people in Monterey County from pursuing higher education.

At this year’s MPC Foundation Scholarship Awards Ceremony, students, families, and donors came together to celebrate the scholarships that are helping MPC students stay in school and move forward. 🎓💙
For many, these awards mean fewer extra shifts, more time in class, and a real chance to keep working toward their degrees.
To every donor and scholarship family who showed up for MPC students this year, thank you for believing in them and investing in their future. 💛
