UC Livestock and Range

Spring has been weird in California this year, but the blue oaks are loving it- had to move my frame multiple times to not have a seedling (or three) in my plot.

Last week and this week we were working on a fun way to share funded research! Videos coming later this spring- integrating sheep grazing in almond orchards.

Last tour for the SRM 2026 Annual Meeting! Great weather, speakers and lots of discussion. Thank you to all who came out and to those who volunteered! Can’t wait to see what the team for Wichita does!

Wild Women of Range annual gathering at SRM!

First Annual (?) Trivia night at SRM was a success!! 34 teams- lots of arguing for points, a three-way tie for 3rd place lead to a dance off and then to a challenge for 2nd and 1st place to also show some moves! Thank you to all who participated! Great fun and can’t wait to see it next year!

A HUGE THANK YOU to our sponsors who made this day happen. And to the women who were the planing committee. This was a great way to unofficially kick off the Annual Meeting for the Society for Range Management! Tomorrow, many of the women who joined us will head out on the Producer’s Tour to enjoy some green grass and learn how we graze our annual rangelands. Thank you again to everyone!
