To provide support to underrepresented students and the community in order to increase participation in post-secondary education and access to academic and financial aid opportunities, coordinate the delivery of services to eligible students, and provide ongoing dissemination of financial aid and college information to parents and students.

If you’re eligible for the CalKids Scholarship, you can request your funds after graduation. Simply log into your CalKids account, select “Request Distribution,” and follow the prompts. Your college will receive the funds within a few weeks.

The COA or Cost of Attendance is an estimate of a student’s educational expenses. Expenses can include direct costs like tuition and fees and housing, or indirect costs like books & supplies, transportation and personal expenses. Remember that the COA is only an ESTIMATE, and although it is a great resource in planning, it is not an exact number.

Students in the Community College system can earn an Associates Degree, transfer to a 4-year college or university or earn a certificate to learn job-training skills. The application for community colleges is open continuously, but it’s best to submit your application by the end of March in order to get help from your college and career center in completing the steps for enrollment.
