Good morrow to all! Yesterday we celebrated the festival of Whitsuntide at Vasa Park. ποΈ Much merriment, silliness, and enjoyment was had! From armored combat to cheese rolling, there was something for all. A Lord and Lady crowned, and a delicious feast in celebration. We hope to see you all at our next event!
On November 7, we bring the Viking Age to LIFE at Vasa Park once more. Open to the public. Vendors, live entertainment, armored combat, archery, workshops, and much more...

Ready to unleash your inner gargoyle? π€ͺβ¨
If youβve ever wanted to make the most ridiculous, distorted face possible without your mom warning you that "it'll freeze that way," then you are ready for GURNING!
π€¨ What is Gurning?
Gurning is the ancient, proud English tradition of face contorting. Originating centuries ago at rural folk festivals, competitors put their heads through a horse collar (known as a braffin) and attempt to snarl, twist, and shift their features into the ugliest or funniest expression possible. The person who manages the most grotesque, terrifying, or laugh-inducing face wins the ultimate bragging rights!
And yes... we are absolutely doing it.
Come show off your best "gurn" at Whitsuntide: A Medieval Faire! If face-twisting isn't your thing, we also have cheese rolling, axe throwing, and more. But letβs be honestβyou know you want to see your fellow lords and ladies try this.

"And so they went on their quest..." βοΈβ¨Did you know that in Sir Thomas Malory's Le Morte d'Arthur, the Knights of the Round Table witnessed a divine vision of the Holy Grail on a Whitsunday? This sacred day was seen as a time of miracles and the official "birthday" of the Church, making it the perfect day to begin a grand adventure.
We might not be hunting for the Grail, but we will have armored combat, archery, and feasting! Find your own quest at Vasa Park on May 30th at Whitsuntide: A Medieval Faire. Join us for a day of immersive history!
