When Handbuilding is ur thing. It really becomes ur thing. Often the Wheel lacks a sense of creativity. It tends to be technical, skill, and science, and then once you’ve learned that then you figure out what it has to say, but Hand Building is a series of creative choices and fails from the beginning.
This amazing coil bowl by Shari, longtime Handbuilder in Maddie’s Tues night class in Madison, shows all of the skills and knowledge that she acquired through trial and error, fails and a lot of tests. You have to see this in real life!
