For the first time ever, Introduction to Women’s and Gender Studies (GSWS 102) is being offered in the summer! The course will be hawk-to-hawk (in-person), 3 credits, and will be taught by Professor Maria Montaperto!
The class will take place from 5/12/25-6/9/25, Monday through Thursday, from 12:00 PM to 2:25 PM
Course description:
This course introduces the student to the broad and interdisciplinary field known as Gender, Sexuality and Women’s Studies. It is designed to make students aware of the new discoveries in feminist and gender studies research and to focus on many aspects of the female experience and the social construction of gendered identities. The course is designed to help students understand different theories and methodologies in diverse disciplines and to treat areas such as literature, history, psychology and the arts through an issue-oriented approach.
Meets World Cultures Requirement.
Satisfies Social Science Perspective GenEd requirement; satisfies SEEDS
Analyzing Cultures and Societies student learning outcome in alignment with Social Justice and Equity value.

Join us this Wednesday, April 30th, from 9 am - 12 pm for Denim Day! The event was created as a way to raise awareness about sexual assault and support survivors. The event will begin at the Amphitheater and will include a resource fair and a one mile walk/roll! Wear your favorite denim!
We’ll be there tabling handing out pins, zines, and more! We hope to see you all there!
