Are you ready for the FAAM Pop-Up Student Art Show?
If you’re on our email list, you’ve been bombarded almost daily by me about it. But damn does the show look good!
This Thursday from 7-9PM, we’ll have our opening and closing reception to celebrate student art of the last year here at FAAM. It’s going to be a beautiful time :)
Many thanks to Luna Stage for allowing us to use their space, and to Jane Jane Sayer for helping to make it all possible. And thank you to Maria m____o+s for making the flyer.
Hope to see you there :)

The At-Home Atelier is opening soon.
I had lofty goals for it. Lots of membership types and plans. Monthly challenges. Two Mentorships. Monthly zoom calls for various groups.
But life is funny. Something positive happened that is forcing me to pivot from my original plan. At first I was bummed that all the ideas weren’t going to go as originally laid out.
That is the blessing, though. I had an A-HA, moment, if I may be allowed to riff on the acronym. I’m going to start slowly, the same way FAAM began.
So when things do open up, you have only two options:
Tutorial - videos and community chat
Mentorship - the above plus direct monthly access to me.
I’ve spread myself thin before. Nobody wins, especially students. What has made FAAM so successful is our unwavering dedication to our students. No halfassing or phoning it in.
I will bring that same level of devotion to the online school when things are up and running.
Sharpen your pencils. Get a designated new sketchbook. You’re about the level up your art at home…the FAAM way.

This summer, end on a high note and learn from a master visual storyteller.
We're offering a special 4-week intensive with FAAM favorite Michael De Brito... "Painting Beyond the Visible: Building Timeless Figurative Paintings."
Michael has a gift for bringing out the best in his students. This is the type of class that challenges you to push your work beyond your comfort zone to understand and create truly timeless art.
"Over four weeks, students will develop one fully realized figurative painting from concept to completion. The course will focus on the choices that give a painting lasting impact: composition, editing, color, atmosphere, symbolism, and mystery.
Students will learn how to create paintings that suggest rather than explain, allowing the viewer to connect through personal memory and experience. Every element of the painting should have purpose, and what is left unsaid can be just as powerful as what is revealed."
