Last week I exhibited 6 of my apples with close friends and colleagues for our annual Montclair 10 show. It was so wonderful to see everyone's beautiful face there :)
Some additional shows coming up...
I'll have my first painting at for their Humans 26 show., which opens next Thursday 5/28 from 6-8pm. It is open to the public, but you have to RSVP on their website. The portrait of Allison titled "The Actress" will be on display there with some other incredible artists. I'm super excited, and grateful.
In June, my painting of Charlotte, "The Art Student," will be on display at for their State of the Arts 2026 exhibit, which opens on Friday June 26 from 6-8PM. This'll be my second time showing there, so again I'm very excited and grateful.
That's all for now, folks. Hope to see some friendly faces and meet new friendly faces at those openings.

I'll need more time to really dive into this one and tell its story.
For now, though, it is enough to say that this drawing is the start of something good and beautiful.
This handsome fella will be hanging out with some powerhouse artists at for the Carbon, Ink, & Ash show that opens on 4/18.

What do you when the people you trust most...
the ones who are supposed to keep the monsters from escaping out from under the bed...
the ones who keep the Devil from entering the front door...
what do you do when they allow them in?
That's how the story of the Handless Maiden begins, like many classic fairy tales do, and what follows is a truly beautiful tale that goes through all the emotional twists and turns of a good story.
This drawing is down at for the epic Carbon, Ink, & Ash show that opens on 4/18.

First post of 2026.
This here is a graphite drawing on medium texture panel for a group show at in April.
“The Handless Maiden” is a classic fairy tale and the inspiration for this drawing. It’s a story I want to explore more deeply this year. After listening to tell it a number of times, and after bouncing around from so many ideas out of an anxious urge to make something cool for the show, I found my way to this image late last week. And unlike all the other starts that wont see a finish, this one developed organically.
It is quiet.
In a noisy world, I don’t have much else to offer but a bit of quiet.
I’m excited for the show. It has a rock star lineup.
Back to work, amigos 😎

Last open studio at for the year.
It was a great turnout with multiple special guests. Thank you to Ivy from for stopping by and capturing that slick pic of me drawing. And thank you to Justine’s beau for drawing with us; it was great meeting you Danny 🤘
Time to clean house, prep for an incredibly exciting 2026, and also hibernate a bit. Yer boy needs a break.
Merry Christmas, y’all!!

Jessica saved the night!!
Had the last portraiture class at and I painted along with the class. Used only primaries plus some delicious cheat colors from
Looking forward to more classes next year 🙌
Still a few spots left, and I’m teaching a daytime section of portraiture as well. There’s some newer classes over at the FAAM to check out also.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year 🙏

Another good drawing day this morning. I spend the first two hours doing busy work on the comp while everyone draws: grading, emails, marketing, etc.
Then I join for the last hour
