Summer may not be over just yet... but the new academic year is getting closer every day!
In less than two weeks, our FOCUS missionaries will arrive, and before we know it we’ll be welcoming the Class of 2030 and the return of hundreds of students to Montclair State. We can’t wait.
Behind the scenes, we’ve been hard at work giving the Newman Catholic Center a fresh look and preparing for what we believe will be an incredible year.
One of our biggest changes is happening on Sunday evenings. After nearly 20 years of celebrating Mass in the Student Center, we’re bringing Sunday Masses home to our beautiful chapel at the Newman Center!
Beginning this fall, we’ll offer two Sunday evening Masses—5:00 PM and 8:00 PM—with Confession available 30 minutes before each Mass. We can’t wait to worship together in a space that truly feels like home.
We’re also excited to welcome Nicholas Duzdic, our new Office Manager, along with our new FOCUS missionaries Jocelyn and Olivia, our new Team Director Morgan, and welcome back Caleb for another year of serving our students.
Finally, thank you to everyone who has supported our Summer Appeal. Because of your generosity, we’ve raised nearly $10,000 toward our mission of helping students encounter Jesus Christ and His Church here at Montclair State.
The countdown to move-in has begun, and we truly believe God has great things in store this year.

It was a privilege to witness Nicholas, Daniela, Jennifer, Hellen, and Melvin receive their Sacraments of Initiation this past weekend!! We are especially grateful to Bishop Saporito for taking the time to visit and warmly welcome these students into full communion with the Roman Catholic Church.

This week, Katie Brandenburg will be visiting our Newman Center to give an info-session about the Seton Teaching Fellows program.
