New Board Member Spotlight!
We proudly announce our newest Board Member, David Cummings, who joined our team last spring.

David Cummings is a media executive with an extensive background covering the sports industry. In his most recent role, he served as the Senior Director of Editorial and Multiplatform Content for CBS Sports. Prior to that, he was the Senior Director of the CBS Sports Race & Culture Unit. David joined CBS Sports after running his own consulting firm, D.E.K Strategies, specializing in content strategy, communications, and public relations.

David has always had a passion for giving back to the community. He served as Vice Chairman of the Montclair Neighborhood Development Corporation (2006-2011), was appointed to the Montclair Board of Education (2011-2013), and elected as the 4th Ward Councilor (2020-2024).

🎉The Montclair Bridge Fund, a fiscally sponsored project of the Northern New Jersey Community Foundation, announces the award of a grant for $5,000 to IMANI INC.

This grant's purpose is to support access to IMANI's SAT prep programs for economically disadvantaged students. This support will provide scholarships for at least 15 students who would not be able to afford IMANI's subsidized SAT prep courses.💫

MHS/IMANI 9th grade Summer Transition Program
This summer IMANI, in cooperation with Montclair High School, will offer the following summer prep classes, for rising freshmen:

Algebra Review and Preview: This class is geared towards helping each student prepare for and increase their likelihood of success in whatever Algebra class will be taken in freshman year.

Algebra B Accelerated: This course is designed to strengthen students’ understanding of the Algebra 1 skills that are most necessary for success in geometry. Topics include linear functions, solving quadratics and simplifying radical expressions to name a few of the most important.

English Language Arts: Students will read and analyze scenes from The Odyssey, and research/explore Of Mice and Men, two literary works that will be taught in Freshman year.

Classes will be held Monday through Thursday, June 29 to July 30, 8:30 am to 12:00 pm in the George Inness Annex (Freshman Building).

Program fee is $50.
