Maia Dean, our amazing Community Engagement manager will be retiring from CBWCD effective today, May 29th
Maia began working for the Chino Basin Water Conservation District in July 2019. During her tenure, she's lead the creation of award-winning projects, established high-quality standards for the District's community events and our K-12th grade field trip program, and helped to significantly increase the Waterwise Community Center's name recognition for people across the region. She's acted as a leader, a mentor, and an advocate for not just her own team, but for every member of staff at the District.
Her excellence in communication, her resilience in the face of unexpected challenges, and her positive presence throughout it all will be missed by all of us here.
Thank you Maia, for all of your hard work. We hope you enjoy your future adventures during your retirement.
⭐ Congratulations! ⭐

🐝We’re buzzing with excitement over World Bee Day! 🐝
California hosts a diverse range of native bees that maintain and pollinate our native plant communities, sometimes even better than honeybees! 🌼 You may have seen some of the iconic Bumblebees that weigh down flower stems while pollinating, or Leafcutter bees that take circular pieces from native plant species for their nest, or even a Sweat bee glimmering in the sunlight as it zooms past. 🐝 Each and every one of these wonderful species depend on CA native plants and we can help them thrive by adding native plants to our gardens!
Come by the Waterwise Community Center to see our native bee-friendly waterwise garden and see how you can make the change yourself. 🌱
