We have to brag about multiple competition winners from within our Cali student community!

In December, the ERA Trio (coached by KeriAnn DiBari-Oberle), won First Place in the 2020 New York Young Virtuoso Competition. The members of this trio are Anthony Kalanick, clarinet, (studio of KeriAnn DiBari-Oberle), Emily Wong, viola, (studio of Honggang Li), and Rina Tabuchi, piano, (studio of Mark Pakman). Jessica Polacheck was a Second Place winner (studio of KeriAnn DiBari-Oberle).

In January, the ERA Trio won Second Place at the 2021 Camerata Artists International Competition. Anthony Kalanick won Third Place in both the Concerto and Solo Competitions. Colin Merkovsky won Third Place in the Solo Competition as well (studio of KeriAnn DiBari-Oberle).

In February, the ERA Trio won First Place in the 2021 Charleston International Classical Music Competition. Anthony Kalanick also won First Place as a soloist.

Important note, the incomparable, extraordinarily musical, and always dependable accompanist Sojung Park performed with all 3 clarinetists.

Big congratulations to undergrad trumpet performance major Gavin Ard on his Third Place prize at the Charleston International Music Competition for his performance of the Tartini Trumpet Concerto, student of Don Batchelder.

We are very proud of, and excited for, these outstanding students!
