Congratulations to Assistant Professor Dr. Sei Kim, Director of the Strengthening Lives of Asian American Youth (SLAAY) Lab, for being accepted into the 2027 PRISM Champions Program at Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science. She will be working with Dr. Matt Mutchler to examine how teachers shape students' experiences of race and ethnicity at school, and how those experiences relate to psychosocial outcomes among Asian American and Latinx adolescents. The award also supports pilot data collection with parent-youth pairs in New York and New Jersey. This recognition builds on Dr. Kim's 2026 PRISM Scholars Fellowship.

Dr. Kim was also recognized by the American Psychological Association. Her paper in the Asian American Journal of Psychology, "Asian American parents' pandemic-related discrimination and cultural orientation: Longitudinal effects on children's adjustment problem," was selected as an Editor's Choice article for exceptionally important and impactful work.

A heartwarming success! 💛

Our Homecoming letter-writing event brought students and alumni together to spread kindness, one note at a time! Together, they wrote an incredible 185 heartfelt and encouraging notes for older adults living in a senior facility. We’re thrilled to share a little extra love, brighten someone’s day, and bring smiles to the faces of our senior community. Because sometimes, a few kind words can make a world of difference! 💕😊
