Too often, children are left out of conversations about their own health. I wanted to help change that. 💜

And apparently, I’m not alone in seeing the need.

Last week, I was awarded 1st place in the for Focus Posters® because this mission resonated (and yes, because I had my business plan and financials in order 😉).

Focus Posters® actually started with something simple: a chore chart to help my friend’s son learn how to clean his room, with a character we designed to look like him. But as I worked on it, I couldn’t shake the feeling that there was a bigger calling here.

Because it was never just about the posters themselves, or the concept of "better visual supports" alone.

Children have different needs. Different routines. Different ways of learning and understanding the world around them. And for the people supporting them-- parents, caregivers, educators, healthcare professionals--time is often the most finite resource.

So the question became:
How do we help them faster? Like, less than 3 minutes, faster.

How do we make personalized, effective visual supports easier to create, easier to access, and easier to use? With *real art,* not AI, because in health illustrations, there's no margin for error.

That’s the heart of Focus Posters®. Supporting and empowering parents and professionals with a tool that helps them create personalized resources that connect on a deeper level, promoting confidence, celebrating a child for who they are, and allowing them to see themselves succeeding.

The week we launched our Character Creator, one of my closest friends tried it first.

I looked at what he made and said,
“Wait… you wear glasses??”

We had been friends for over 10 years… and I had never really seen that detail.
It stuck with me.

Because it’s a reminder:
We don’t always see ourselves the way others do.
And kids feel that too.

⭐️ The way a child sees themselves…
⭐️ The way adults describe them…
⭐️ The way they’re represented in tools meant to support them…

Those don’t always match.
And that gap matters.
When children can actually recognize themselves in visuals, in routines, in the tools we use to support them, something shifts.

⭐️ They feel seen.
⭐️ They feel included.
⭐️ They feel more in control.

That’s why we built Focus Posters® the way we did 💫

For the parents and professionals who know:
