It felt like summer this morning as Montclair students and their families came to school on foot, bicycles and scooters as part of National Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day which highlights the importance of safe, active travel.

Schools are celebrating Week of Respect this week and continuing Hispanic/Latine Heritage Month activities. Bradford students were recently treated to Capoeira and Samba performances by Mestre Gaivota and The Afro Brazilian Cultural Center of New Jersey Music and Dance Ensemble.

Edgemont held its 3rd annual Hispanic/Latine Heritage event celebrating Hispanic/Latine culture and community. The free family event was made possible by the PTA. Activities included dancing with a Latin dance teacher, a Restorative Justice crafts table and an outdoor movie.

Montclair Mounties Dominate Nutley, Undefeated Streak Continues - Montclair Local With the victory, the Montclair Mounties stayed undefeated with a 3-0 record. Montclair travels to Union City on Friday, Sept. 15, at 7 p.m.

It was a great first day of school around the District!
Montclair Celebrates First Day of School - Montclair Local Even with extreme heat, there were plenty of happy faces as Montclair children went back to school, today, Sept. 6.
Due to excessively high heat indexes predicted to continue through the week, all schools will follow abbreviated-day schedules on Thursday and Friday, September 7 and 8. The YMCA will continue to offer Before Care and will offer After Care until 3:30 pm to children already registered.
We recognize that early dismissal creates inconveniences for many in our community and thank you for supporting our efforts to keep students safe during these days of extreme heat.
