Highlights from this week at MISD! 💙🦅

Mrs. Eldred’s ELAR classes read, "The Legend of Rock Paper Scissors," and discussed the importance of practicing good sportsmanship both inside and outside the classroom. They wrapped up the lesson with a fun Rock Paper Scissors tournament in each class!

Mrs. Tomlinson’s 8th grade Social Studies class is working on ancient civilization projects, while Mrs. Romine’s science classes kicked off the year with back-to-school scavenger hunts and a lab on magnetism.

Our 8th graders also had a special moment as they served as captains for their last first volleyball games. 🏐

UPDATE as of 2:00 PM, County officials have notified us that the fire is contained.

We have been notified of a fire in the area; however, at this time, it is not a threat to our school. The district is in communication with county officials, and we will share any updates with you as we receive additional information.

Your child’s safety is our utmost priority. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

We are excited to share that Mrs. Sicking officially signed her contract last night as our new superintendent, pictured here with School Board President Cathy Mowery, and today marks her first day as an Eagle!

Our 7th grade class helped kick things off! They’ll have the special distinction of being the first 8th grade class to learn in our new building next year. 💙🦅
