Congratulations to Willow Creek graduate Taylor on an outstanding market animal project at the Siskiyou Golden Fair!

Taylor raised Alf, a steer shown through the Shasta View 4-H Club. It was exciting to see the hard work and dedication that went into this project and to learn more about the livestock market along the way.

We love celebrating the accomplishments of our Willow Creek students, both in and out of the classroom.

If your student has an exhibit, project, or animal at the Siskiyou Golden Fair, please share a photo in the comments. We’d love to celebrate their hard work too!

Wolves Unleashed, Week 2.

Today marks the end RRanch Horse Camp. Campers learned about horse anatomy, as well as how to identify and use various tack items for grooming and riding. They learned about horse training and how to ride. There were fun games and crafts throughout camp. The final adventure was a trail ride followed by a delicious barbecue.

Thanks for the great experience, RRanch!

The Wolves Unleashed Summer Program just completed week one. This week students took part in daily SEL lessons with group discussion and journaling. They worked on individual book studies with reading practice and written comprehension responses.

The science focus for the week was chemistry. They learned the difference between physical and chemical reactions. They dug deeper into chemical reactions and learned that atoms are not gained or lost, they are rearranged during chemical changes. They had fun with rockets and explored forensic chemistry with a lab that helped them to determine which pen was used to write a mysterious clue.

They learned a technique for writing bubble letters, built with LEGO, studied Spanish and German, drew a lot, and played with their friends outdoors. The older kids also built and decorated a structure and started a cross stitch project.

Can’t wait until next week! We will have morning lessons in SEL, crafts, swimming, and three days of Horse Camp at the R Ranch.

👩‍🏫 Teacher Swap Spirit Day! 👔🍎

Get ready for one of the funniest spirit days of the year! Students will dress up like their favorite teachers by copying their outfits, accessories, hairstyles, or signature looks. From lanyards and coffee mugs to cardigans and ties — creativity is encouraged! 😄

It’s a fun way to celebrate our amazing teachers and show off school spirit. We can’t wait to see all the teacher “twins” walking around campus! 📚✨

Today, Ms. Gilbert’s grades 6–8 students enjoyed our annual trip to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival to watch A Midsummer Night’s Dream!

Since 2022, this has become a special classroom tradition and a fun way to bring literature to life beyond the classroom. Students wrapped up the day with pizza dinner and great memories together.

We love creating learning experiences our students will remember!

This Spring we have increased our writing practice in room 4. Students have been writing daily in their journals with the goal of improving their spelling practice as well as crafting more complex sentences. We fill the front white board with their ideas as students share their work in the morning. A few popular subjects include kitties, pizza, and Mom.

Ms. Smith has been running grade level writing workshops for grades K-2. She is covering the basics such as sentence construction and mechanics as well as teaching the older students how to craft a paragraph and conduct research.

The students are growing confident in their writing and feeling empowered by the skills that they are perfecting through these practices. This afternoon all 4 second graders were able to display their animal research projects. They are very proud of their projects.
