Hello Monroe families -
We are looking for parent volunteers to assist with the upcoming Read-A-Thon. Our first Read-A-Thon is scheduled for October 1-31st and there will be two more scheduled: one during Christmas Break and another to celebrate Read Across America in the spring. Please click on the link below to see the different jobs that are available to support this wonderful activity. Many of the tasks can be done outside of the school day and do not require an on site presence.

With the beginning of the school year quickly approaching here is some important and useful information and dates that you will want to know.
August 16th is our class posting event from 2-5pm with kindergarten teachers present from 2-3pm for a meet and greet. This is the event where you can gather information about your students classroom assignment. Pta will also be present to share information on who we are, how we help Monroe out and how to join.
August 17th is our first day back at school.
August 18th is our first association meeting via zoom. This meeting is very important because we will vote to approve our knew budget as well as out programs and fundraisers for the year. In order to make your vote count you have to be a PTA member either this past year or this current year.

Our annual auction is NOW live on [auctria.events/MonroePTA](https://auctria.events/MonroePTA) You can check out all the amazing baskets that our room parents put together as well as many other donated items. The auction includes about 90 items and is over $10,000 in value. Our goal is to raise at least $5000. Bidding will take place online ONLY, but you can view the baskets in the cafeteria from 4-6pm during the carnival. Be sure to register yourself as a bidder today, so you do not miss out! The bidding closes at 6pm tonight! Items that have been paid for may be picked up beginning at 6:30pm. If you are unable to attend the event to pick up the item, pick up arrangements will be made for next week.

TODAY is the day we have been waiting for. After a 2 year Covid hiatus the Family Carnival is BACK! You may pick up your wristband and meal tickets TODAY before and after school in front of the main office.
See you at 4pm for Student Performances, Carnival Games, Inflatables, Food, Music and FUN. Entrance to the event will be on Colorado (by the dumpsters) All other school gates will be locked.
