Also, as a reminder.... Parent/Teacher conference day is Tuesday from 10 until 1 p.m., so parents please feel free to come see your child's teachers to check on your child's grades and academic progress.

Some of our MCHS faculty joined in on Banned Books Week by choosing a book that has been challenged or banned and helping us showcase it in the library.

It has been so much fun seeing the titles they chose and hearing the conversations these books have sparked with our students throughout the week.

Thank you to our faculty for being willing to participate and help us celebrate reading, curiosity, and the freedom to explore a good book.

📚👻 UPDATE: OPERATION GOOSEBUMPS! 👻📚

Our collection is growing! We are now up to 74 Goosebumps books donated! 🎉
We especially want to say THANK YOU to Mrs. Taite and Mrs. Jones for generously donating books to help us get closer to our goal! 💙💛 We appreciate you helping us put more books into the hands of our students!

But Operation Goosebumps isn’t over yet! 👀 We’re still on the hunt for 234 more copies of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books.

Search those bookshelves. Check those closets. Dig through those boxes in the attic. Those well-loved Goosebumps books deserve another chance to give someone the creeps! 🎃📖

Due to the anticipation of inclement weather on Friday, the MCHS Tigers vs. J.U. Blacksher Bulldogs football game has been moved to TOMORROW NIGHT—Thursday, October 8! 🏈

Today, our Driver's Education teacher, Ms. Pettit, took learning outside of the classroom and gave our students some hands-on experience with basic car maintenance.

Students learned how to locate and check the engine oil dipstick, how to locate and detach a spare tire, and how to measure tire pressure using a tire-pressure gauge. These may seem like simple tasks, but they’re important skills every new driver should know!

Thank you, Ms. Pettit, for helping prepare our students to be not only safe drivers, but also confident and responsible vehicle owners. 🐯💙💛

We’ve collected 64 Goosebumps books so far, but our mission isn’t complete yet! We’re searching for 244 more copies of R.L. Stine’s Goosebumps books so we can put these spooky classics into the hands of our students.

Search those bookshelves. Check those closets. Dig through those boxes in the attic. We know there are some well-loved Goosebumps books hiding out there! 👀

It’s spooky season, and what better time to bring these creepy, crawly, can’t-put-them-down stories back to life? 🎃📖

We are collecting new and gently used Goosebumps books by R.L. Stine with the goal of putting a book in the hands of EVERY MCHS student this Halloween! 🧡📖

🫀 Anatomy in Action!

Students in Ms. Boykin’s Anatomy class participated in a peer-review activity where they evaluated and provided feedback on one another’s body maps. Students examined the accuracy, placement, and labeling of anatomical structures while using scientific vocabulary to explain their thinking.

This collaborative activity encouraged students to visualize anatomical structures, communicate their understanding, identify errors, and learn from their peers. Peer learning and visualization are valuable strategies for strengthening students’ understanding of anatomy.

Learning anatomy isn’t just about memorizing structures it’s about understanding how the parts fit together! 🔬🧠
