Our Library on the Gilbertown Campus welcomed students, faculty, and community members this morning for Coffee with a Cop. Local officers and Coastal Alabama Community College police officers had the opportunity to connect with the students and community they serve. Thanks to everyone who came out and to the wonderful people who helped make this event possible!

Today we learned about The Kathryn Tucker Windham Museum on the Thomasville Campus of Coastal Alabama Community College from museum coordinator Kelly Elmore. The museum is co-hosting an event for 3rd-6th graders next Monday at the Monroe County Public Library with Monroeville Main Street. We are glad to see our local community college bringing wonderful cultural engagement to town. We just hope that they don’t leave Jeffrey the ghost behind!

“To me, the greatest pleasure of writing is not what it’s about, but the inner music that words make." - Truman Capote

Today marks the 102nd birthday of American author Truman Capote. Capote's roots in Monroeville, Alabama, run deep, and his connection to Harper Lee reflects a fascinating literary bond that began with a neighborhood friendship. This portrait of Capote by Nall is on display in our Monroeville Campus Library.
