🌲 Discover Your Career: Monroe County Forestry Tour! 🌲

Monroe County Soil & Water Conservation District is excited to once again partner with Monroe County 4-H to provide students in grades 10–12 with an opportunity to explore careers through hands-on field experiences!

Our first Discover Your Career experience will take students into the field for a Monroe County Forestry Tour, where they’ll have the opportunity to learn more about natural resource management and the many career opportunities available in the forestry industry.

🌲 Learn from professionals.
🚜 Experience agriculture and natural resources beyond the classroom.
🎓 Discover where your interests could lead you!

This is a great opportunity for students to gain real-world experience, ask questions, and see firsthand what a career in forestry and natural resources can look like.

🐥🍀 What a GREAT day at the 4-H Chick Chain Show! 🍀🐥

We are so proud of all of our 4-H Chick Chain participants! Everyone did an amazing job showcasing their hard work, dedication, and the knowledge they have gained throughout this project. 🐔🏆

A HUGE thank you to all of our wonderful sponsors and buyers! Your generosity and continued support make opportunities like this possible for our 4-H members. Thank you for investing in our program and, most importantly, in the youth of our county. 💚

We would also like to extend a special thank you to the Monroeville Area YMCA for allowing us to use your facilities for our show. We truly appreciate your hospitality and support of 4-H!

It takes a community to make programs like Chick Chain successful, and we are incredibly thankful for everyone who helped make this year's show a great one!

Be sure to come out to veterans Park today for the antique car and tractor show and the 4-H Chick Chain show.

The Chick Chain show will be held in the batting cages between the 10 U and 12 U baseball fields! 🍀 🐥 🏆

Something exciting is hatching! Alabama Extension is launching new Facebook and Instagram pages dedicated to all things backyard poultry.
Whether you already have a flock or are planning to start one, follow along for research-based information to help you care for healthy, productive birds.

To celebrate the launch and National Chicken Month, we’re hosting a Backyard Poultry Photo Contest! Share a photo of your favorite hen, prized rooster or entire backyard flock for a chance to win.

We have some amazing 4-H volunteers!! After teaching three 4-H homeschool art classes,  Mrs. Miranda came back to lead a fun art activity for our Chick Chain members. The Show is a week away and it was great to get everyone together to paint these goofy chickens!!
