🦆🥚 Something exciting is happening in STREAM at DMA! 💙🤍

Our 4-year-old preschoolers through 8th graders are learning all about duck eggs in our STREAM classroom with Mrs. Vita! The eggs are cozy in the incubator, and we’re counting down the days until they hatch in about two weeks! 🐣

Students have started candling the eggs to observe the veins and movement inside. They’re also watching videos to discover how ducklings develop and what happens when it’s time to hatch! 🔬🥚

We can’t wait to welcome our little feathered friends! Stay tuned for more updates as we get closer to hatch day! 🦆💙🤍

🌎💃 A Fun Lesson in Folk Dance! ✨

DMA’s Administrative Assistant, Mrs. Bozicevic, spent a day teaching our students several traditional folk dances from Eastern Europe! ✨

As an alumna of the Tamburitzans performing ensemble, Mrs. Bozicevic has spent much of her life enjoying and performing dances from this part of the world. She was also fortunate to dance her way through college on a full scholarship at Duquesne University! 💃🎓

During gym classes, our students learned two dances from Serbia in a short amount of time and did a fantastic job! 👏😊

And the fun isn’t over! Mrs. Bozicevic will be back next week to continue our learning and dancing! 💙🤍💃🕺

👀Take a peek at what we’ve been learning in First Grade and Second Grade!

🌎 Social Studies: Our first graders explored their place in the world with our “Where Are We in the World?” projects, learning about everything from our community to our planet!

➕ Math: Our first graders have been adding! Students used hands-on tools like connecting cubes to help solve addition problems. Our Second Graders are practicing rounding to the nearest 10 and had a fun Halloween themed number Activity!

📖Phonics: In first grade at our short O station, students practiced matching pictures with words and then writing each word correctly.

We’ve been busy learning, practicing, and having fun together! 💙🤍🐯

A HUGE thank you to everyone who came out to play Bingo and support Divine Mercy Academy! We hope you had as much fun as we did!

Seeing the room filled with families, friends, laughter, and a little friendly competition made all of the planning and preparation worth it. Your support of events like this means so much to our school and our students, and we are incredibly grateful you chose to spend your evening with us!

And since so many of you were asking what’s next… we have a couple more fun ways to support DMA coming up!
