The Story Behind the Green Glass - a piece of history.
"What many people may have known as the "Big Room," our students knew as the "Gym." And during one of our gym classes, one of our students accidentally broke one of the stained-glass windows. I kept a piece of that glass with the plan to create something with it. Well...I never actually got around to doing anything with it.
But apparently, I wasn't the only one who thought it was important.
Stephanie Gresh, who has been a part of our Spectrum team for the past two years, took that piece of glass and had something created from it. And I think that is the perfect representation of Spectrum. We take what we have, we find the meaning in it, and we turn it into something special.
This piece of stained glass is more than just a piece of an old window. It is a reminder of where we started, the memories we made, the students we served, and the people who helped make Spectrum what it is today.
As we begin this exciting new chapter, we are grateful for the past, proud of how far we've come, and incredibly excited for what lies ahead.
Here's to our students, our families, our staff, our board, and to the next chapter of Spectrum Charter School in this beautiful new building.
Welcome home." Lori Yurkovich, Instructional Lead Teacher.
