Save the date! Join us Wednesday, September 30, for Saint Vincent De Paul Society’s annual Poor Man’s Supper & Silent Auction at Jesus the Good Shepherd!

Wednesday, September 30, 2026
5:00–8:00 p.m.
Jesus the Good Shepherd Gym

Enjoy a variety of soups, good food, and fellowship. Dine-in only!
Adults: $15
Children ages 5–12: $10

Tickets will be sold after Masses the weekend of September 12 & 13.

Grab & Go Gumbo will also be available from 5:00–6:00 p.m. at the JGS School Main Entrance. For $15, you’ll receive 1 quart of chicken & sausage gumbo and 1 pint of rice. Advance tickets are required. Call 381-9670.

And don’t forget to enter the Louis Vuitton Neverfull MM drawing! Donations are $10, and you do not have to be present to win. The drawing will be held September 30.

Faith and education go hand in hand at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic School! Today, our 3rd–6th grade students participated in altar server training with Father Peter, learning not only how to serve at the altar, but also growing in their understanding and love of the Mass.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these that allow our students to put their faith into practice!

What a wonderful evening of fellowship, fun, and school spirit! Thank you to everyone who joined us for the JGS PTO Social at Monroe's last night. We know weeknights are busy, and we are so grateful that so many of you took the time to come together in support of our school community.

As we look ahead to an exciting new school year, we're reminded that it truly takes a village to help our children grow and thrive. We are incredibly blessed with a faithful, supportive, and engaged JGS family, and we can't wait to see all that God has in store for this year.

Thank you to for the beautiful venue and food and to our ever faithful and resourceful, PTO committee, for pulling it all together! We are extemely grateful for your time and effort.

A wonderful start to the second week of school and a beautiful reminder of what makes Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic School so special. ❤️

Fr. Peter and Mrs. Patrick spent yesterday morning visiting every classroom on campus, blessing each room and every student, from our youngest learners to our oldest, as we place this new school year in God’s loving hands.

Along the way, Fr. Peter blessed our gym, giving thanks for the gift of its new roof, and our library, praying that every child will grow in a lifelong love of reading, learning, and discovering the gifts God has given them. In each classroom, he shared a simple but powerful message: never underestimate the power of prayer. He challenged every student to begin each day by making the Sign of the Cross as soon as their feet touch the floor, inviting the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit into every moment of their day, a habit he encouraged them to carry with them for the rest of their lives.

At JGS, we are grateful to provide more than an excellent education. We are blessed to be a school where children are known, loved, and encouraged to grow in their faith, deepen their relationship with Christ, and flourish in a safe, caring, and Christ-centered community. May God continue to bless our students, our faculty, our families, and our school throughout this new year. Thank you to Fr. Peter for blessing our school, students and faculty.
