This past weekend, we hosted the VEX Robotics State Championships in Connecticut and I'm still riding the wave of what this community created together.
From tech challenges and schedule delays to 125+ team interviews in a single day and an unforgettable finish, it was everything you'd expect from a state championship and more. Most importantly; 15 Connecticut (10 High school and 5 Middle school) teams earned their spots at the VEX World Championships. 🏆
But the moment that has stuck with me most didn't come from the competition floor.
It came from a conversation this morning with one of my teams that did not qualify for Worlds. I expected to be helping them find the positives. Instead, they humbled me.
💬 "The cueing of matches, even with the delays, never felt stressed. It let us concentrate on how to try and win."
💬 "Skills was the best experience we've ever had. We didn't hit the scores we wanted, but we were always supported."
💬 "It was great to see the alumni there helping. I can't wait to do that myself someday."
That last one say it all.
What we are really building, beyond the robots, the code, and the competition, is a safe space for students to make mistakes, struggle, learn, and grow. That is the standard we hold ourselves to in every interaction, in private programs and public competitions alike.
When we are able to create that environment; You don't just get great competitors. You get the next generation of engineers, computer scientists, and problem solvers who are ready to push innovation forward in ways we haven't even imagined yet.
Thank you to every coach, volunteer, and staff member who gave their time and energy this weekend. You are not just running an event — you are shaping futures. The students see it. Even when they can't always say it.
This community is something special. I cannot wait to do it all again this fall.

Masuk Robotics Alumni — we need you!
Our annual Masuk Robotics Home Event is happening Saturday, December 13th, and it’s one of the biggest days of the year for our program. With more than 75 visiting teams and hundreds of spectators, this event only runs as smoothly as it does because of the incredible community behind it — and that includes you.
If you’ve ever been part of Masuk Robotics, you know how much this day means to our current students. It’s also our largest fundraiser of the season, helping keep costs down for families and supporting everything we do throughout the year.
We’re calling on our alumni to come back, reconnect, and lend a hand. No experience needed — just your willingness to jump in, help teams, assist in the event flow, and be part of the energy that makes Masuk Robotics special.
Whether you can give an hour or the full day, your support makes a huge impact. Alumni are a big part of our legacy, and we’d love to have you back in the building, helping the next generation rise.
Once a Panther Robotics member, always part of the family.
Hope to see you on the 13th!
Please reach out if you are able to help
