Lee Park Prep, we have another amazing teacher coming our way!!!
Hello, my name is Erin Helms and I am excited to be joining the Lee Park Prep team as the First Grade teacher. After 16 years in public education, I am so humbled to continue my teaching career in a Christian school environment. As a teacher, I especially enjoy teaching reading and writing. I love having an early influence on a child’s education, and helping create a lifelong love of learning. I look forward to not only teaching those academics, but to also having the opportunity to teach Bible and have an eternal impact in the classroom.
My husband Doug and I, and our 3 children, have been members at Lee Park for 13 years. Our family not only loves the school here, but we love our church as well. I have a passion for singing in the choir and working with the kids’ choir ministry.
If you ask my kids about me, they will tell you I love chasing waterfalls, convincing them to go on hikes with me, cooking their favorite meals, and relaxing on the beach with a really great book.
Thank you Lee Park for this amazing opportunity. I look forward to what God has in store for us this year at LPP!

God continues to bless our school with incredible educators. Please join us in welcoming Mrs. Albertyn to Lee Park Prep!
I’m a mom of three boys, one college-bound this fall, and the other two at LPP.
I’m a native Charlottean and graduated from UNC Charlotte (B.A. in Art, Graphic Design). I love that art isn’t confined to one form, but shows up as creativity woven through every part of life.
My favorite place to be is outside; I love hiking and paddle boarding. I’m an avid reader and never go anywhere without a book!

Join us in welcoming Mrs. Simpson to Lee Park Prep! We are excited to have her on our team!!!
My name is Allison Simpson and I am excited to join Lee Park Prep next school year as a 7th and 8th grade social studies teacher. I am originally from Alabama but have lived in Union County for 23 years and this is where our family has grown. I earned a BS in Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in History from Auburn University and a MSE in Secondary Social Studies Education from Jacksonville State University. I taught for UCPS from 2004-2011. Since 2012 I have homeschooled my three children, taught and built online social studies courses for North Carolina Virtual Public Schools, and taught grammar, writing, and social studies for homeschool co-ops. I am also a Barton Reading and Spelling tutor for dyslexic students.
I have a wonderful husband Matthew and three children. Mattie is a recent graduate of SPCC and will continue her education in Law, Politics, and Society at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. Maryn will be a junior at LPP next year and loves the arts and golf. Major will be in 8th grade at LPP next year and loves baseball, his go-cart, and working with his hands. I love reading, gardening, crafts, travel, my dog, and all Auburn sports, especially football and baseball. War Eagle!
During my time homeschooling I fell in love with curriculum that focuses on teaching history and social sciences from a Christian worldview. It is rooted in truth and has eternal value. I am overjoyed to continue this model of instruction at Lee Park Prep. It is a privilege to partner with the Lee Park family to educate and disciple our students. What a blessing it is to live out Romans 12:2! "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

LPP, we have another amazing teacher to welcome!
Hi! My name is Hope Bridwell, and I am excited to be the new Second Grade teacher at Lee Park Prep. I have taught Second Grade for four years and I absolutely love this grade level. The students are constantly learning and growing, not just in academics but in their character as children of God. My favorite subject to teach is the Bible. This age group is seeking answers about Scripture, the Lord, choices, and situations in their lives. I am blessed by the opportunity to point them to Christ and share the gospel with them on a daily basis.
I am married to David Bridwell and we have two girls. Analise will be in 7th Grade and Everly will be in 3rd Grade this coming school year. I am grateful that they get to join me here at LPP.
When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my family and serving my church in the music and children's departments. My family and I like going to the beach, playing sports, listening to music, and watching movies.
I am looking forward to how the Lord is going to use me to fulfill His purposes as I transition to LPP! I am excited for this new step in my life and the life of my family.

LPP, help us welcome another great teacher coming our way, Ms. Fehlman!
I graduated from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington with my Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in Criminology in 2023. After that, I took a few years pursuing mission work in South Africa, where I was able to teach in schools and some of their mission school programs, igniting my passion for education and working with students. I love chemistry and science and am excited to bring both of my passions together at LPP.
Outside of teaching, I have worked in a variety of different settings with my most recent being food management, private cheffing, and substitute teaching.
If I am not working, you will most likely find me reading, at the gym, spending time with my fiancé, or just relaxing at home.
Fun fact: Come November, I will be Mrs. Braswell’s newest daughter-in-law!

LPP, here's another amazing teacher added to our wonderful staff! Welcome!
My name is Amber Plattenberger. I was born and raised in Texas. I graduated from the University of North Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics. I taught Algebra I and II in Texas before meeting my husband and moving to North Carolina. I have always loved the application of math in my accounting and bookkeeper careers. My love for math comes from a middle school teacher who met me where I was at and made it exciting and enjoyable. My goal is for my students to shine their lights for Christ in all they do in and outside the classroom with confidence.
My husband Scott and I have been married 10 years. We have one daughter who will be in third grade here at LPP. When not in the classroom, you can find me coaching with LP sports, working out, having family and friend game nights, visiting my family in Texas, or planning our next family adventure.

Let's welcome another teacher to Lee Park, Mrs. Whitener!!!!
My name is April Whitener, and I am thrilled to be joining the Lee Park family this August as a 5th Grade Math and Science teacher!
I am a Union County native and graduated from Sun Valley High School. I attended Queens University of Charlotte, where I studied Vocal Performance and Nursing. I served in local hospitals for six years, until God completely changed my life and mission field in the best way when He called me to be a teacher! I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Middle School Mathematics from UNC Charlotte in 2016.
Over the past ten years, I have served as a 4th grade teacher at Matthews Charter Academy and within the YMCA YScholars program, as a Math Specialist at Monroe Middle School, and also given private tutoring/voice lessons. Watching students grow is my favorite!
I am also a mom to three sweet boys - Caleb (16), Aiden (12), and Liam (8) - who keep me on my toes and will also be joining Lee Park Prep! In my free time, I enjoy singing/songwriting, playing piano and guitar, woodworking, DIY projects and renovations, playing soccer, and being a lifelong learner.
In the classroom, I love incorporating whole-brain teaching strategies that include music, movement, creativity, hands-on projects, and collaboration to make learning meaningful and memorable. Most of all, I really love Jesus and His Word because He first loved me, and I'm so excited to be able to share that love with students in the classroom every single day!
“My health may fail and my spirit may grow weak, but God remains the strength of my heart; He is mine forever!”
