As part of Career Communications at Monroe High School, junior Lilly A. went behind the scenes to shadow Jim A., a Mechanic for the City of Monroe. π
Lilly got an up-close look at the specialized equipment that keeps our city running, including maintaining plow trucks and timing school zone lights. A major highlight was heading out in the field to see how the team handles high-tech repairs on city stoplights. π₯
Lilly appreciated learning how Jimβs farm upbringing translated into a hands-on career. While she plans to keep her mechanical skills sharp, this experience has her excited to explore future paths as an electrician or heavy equipment operator.
