The Ouachita High School family extends our deepest and heartfelt condolences to our School Board Member, Mr. Dabo Graves, and his family on the passing of his beloved wife, Mrs. Sharon Sweazy Graves.

During this difficult time, we pray that God will provide you and your family with strength, comfort, peace, and understanding. May the cherished memories of Sharon bring comfort to your hearts and serve as a reminder of the love and beautiful life she shared with those around her.

As the high school football season kicks off this weekend, Ouachita Parish Schools reminds fans of our Clear Bag Policy and entrance safety procedures.

All fans will also go through the OpenGate weapon detection system, the same technology students use each morning when entering our middle and high schools.

These screenings are an additional layer of protection designed to help keep our students, families, staff and fans safe. The best way to get through the gates quickly? Come prepared!

FANS SHOULD:

• Know before you go: Review the school’s Clear Bag Policy and prohibited-item guidelines.
• Arrive early: Allow extra time for screening, especially for rivalry games and large crowds.
• Listen to staff: Follow directions from security personnel and school employees.
• Be patient: Your patience helps us keep the process safe and efficient.
• Talk to your children: Make sure students know the same safety expectations apply to them at games.

Together, let’s make it a great — and safe — season!
