Happy New Year!!
May you be blessed beyond measure.
Insight for Inmates
We need you!
Well, guess what? Its that time of year again. You all have been wondering what in the world are we going to do far as the Christmas party that we do every year with LCIW. Due to the flooding situation, we have decided to join forces with two schools that were affected by the flood and help families have a Christmas. So WE NEED YOU! This event will take place in Baton Rouge, LA on Thursday, December 1st and Friday, December 2nd. There is no party on Saturday. The Toy Drive takes place on Friday.
1. We need gifts for ages 2-10 boy/girl. If you don't want to shop we will shop for you.
2. We need 3 nights paid for hotel.
3. We need a Uhaul trailer to haul the toys to Baton Rouge.
We want to thank you all for always supporting our endeavors and reaching the lost. Please know that the moment that LCIW gets back up and running we will return. We miss our ladies and we know they miss us. We NEED YOU!!
If you have any questions, please reach out to me. Heather.
Update from Mrs Glenda,
Hello Volunteers,
I'm not sure what you have heard on the news about the LCIW facility but
most of the dorms and the chapel did not take on water. There were a
couple of dorms that did take on water as well as the administration
building.
Of course there is still water on the grounds as it will take some time
for it to recede. In the meantime, our ladies are doing well. They will
be moving soon closer to Baton Rouge and we will be able to resume many
of our programs. The plan is for some of the ladies to go to Jetson and
some to Elyan Hunt Correctional.
In a couple of weeks we will need help bagging and labeling the ladies
belongings that were left behind when they evacuated. If any of you
would be willing to help with this task, please let me know. I will
contact you with the dates and time this will take place.
Thank you all for your concern and love for the ladies.
