from Ralph Towler:
The MAHS Class of 1968, are hosting another (our fourth) Golden Canes Homecoming/Reunion on May 1, 2025 (that’s a Thursday) from 5 til 9 at the Wayfarer Sunroom at 112 North Broad Street in downtown Monroe. This is an alumni homecoming for all those that attended or graduated from MAHS at least 50 years ago.

There’s no registration so this should be easy. While no food or drinks will be provided at the venue there are many eating and drinking places close by and we encourage you to enjoy an evening downtown with friends and family.

Look for the banner and drop in and see who’s there. It’s a fun event. Your old friends look forward to seeing you.

Obituary for Danny Lee Cape | Bridges - Cameron Funeral Home 04/04/2024

The Class of 66 has lost two more classmates recently - Suzanne Barrett and Danny Cape. Danny's obituary can be found at https://www.bridgescameronfuneralhome.com/obituary/Danny-Cape?utm_source=obit-share&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=relationship-bar&utm_content=email

Here is Suzanne's:
Suzanne Barrett Bennett
Birth – 1948, Walton County, Georgia USA
Death 16 Oct 2022 (aged 73-74)
Burial – Burial Details Unknown
Memorial ID 252258204

Death announced by her brother William Guy Barrett as "Suzanne Barrett Forbes Bennett (Sister) passed away 10/16/22 of Arterial Blockage. No Funeral, No Memorial. She WILL be Missed…" on Guy Barrett's Facebook timeline dated 24 October 2022. Her father was William Irwin Barrett (1923 - 1996) and her mother was Lucille Elizabeth King and was believed to be still living as her death.

She had resided at 5601 Nowhere Road, Nicholson, Jackson County, GA 30565 and was divorced from Thomas Jackson Bennett. She had previously resided in Asbury, NJ and it is presumed that is where the name Forbes came to be associated with her. She grew up in Jersey, Walton County, Georgia. No obituary was known to be published of her but there is one of another person of the same age and name who had died in Texas but this is a different person. As of this writing, it is not known where she is buried and her brother did not respond to any questions.

Suzanne had previously arranged and paid for the cremation and burial of her nephew/niece Gregory Scott "Sunnie" Dempsey in January 2022.
