An integrated approach to process (method) and creativity (madness), strengthens and improves how you approach, think about, speak, write, express, and use language. This process is balanced with a collaborative approach that amalgamates the individual or organization's unique identity, values, and goals into their writing. Purpose:
To help people and organizations not only discover and define their voice, but to provide the foundation and nurture the skills that turn that voice into effective language. Establishing and setting clear goals allows the creation of individualized, sustainable, and flexible strategies with concrete instruction and repeatable exercises and approaches. The purpose of each strategy is independence in that individuals walk away with a clear articulation of their own goals, understanding of their challenges, and the ability to achieve and overcome each respectively. FURTHER INFORMATION:
Our understanding of and ability to utilize language has a major impact on the course of our lives. Personally, it affects the way we communicate, develop, and even behave in everyday interactions and relationships. Professionally, it dictates how efficiently and effectively we communicate with employees, colleagues, managers, and clients, which in turn affects our performance, potential, and ultimately, our income. I work with artists, editors, students, and a variety of professionals who seek ways to get the most value out of their content. My main goal is to help you ensure that your language and content function in the most valuable way possible for either yourself or your business. A Brief History:
Method to Madness started out as an informal tutoring practice for college undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral students in 2012. In 2014, the practice expanded its reach to students in 7th and 8th grade. By 2017 the practice covered students from 4th grade through doctoral candidates as well as professionals and artists. For over half a decade, as I built my practice, I worked in the Language Service Provider (LSP) industry in multiple roles such as: Project Management, Operations, Client Relationship Management, and Account Management. In that time, I experienced nearly every aspect of the Language industry from both the business and the linguistic side. In Operations I worked with hundreds of linguists on challenging translation, trans-creation, localization, and well as quality management campaigns for a variety of organizations, all with different content, voice, tone, and goals. On the business end I worked closely with organizations to understand the goal of their messaging as well as how they needed the language to be received globally and regionally in multiple languages and dialects. The hands on linguistic experience I received during that time allowed me to apply my education in English and International Studies directly to my work. Through this process I was able to more intimately understand what makes language both effective and valuable. The business side of the industry allowed me to witness and more deeply comprehend how value is judged and generated through language on an organizational level. In 2017 I formalized my practice and dedicated myself to it full-time. If you need to make the most out of your content, communication, or use of language in general, reach out and send a message so we can discuss the ways I can help. I genuinely want to and enjoy helping you become better and accomplish what you need to. I am excited to help out and hope to hear from you soon!
