Also, flying at half staff for Martha Odom.

Martha was a 17-year-old high school student whose life was cut short by the senseless violence at the Mall of Louisiana.

Our prayers are with all these families, friends, and communities—and all those injured in this tragedy.

As the people of Louisiana we must stand united against acts of violence directed at our children, who are entitled to our fullest protection.

We may be a few days late showing love for Mrs. Porter for National Librarian Day, but we love her and appreciate everything she does to make our school magical!

Swartz Lower Library is so excited to announce the installation of our new outdoor reading area!
Eli Ellington has officially completed his Eagle Scout project—and what an incredible impact it will have! He designed and built a beautiful hammock garden at Swartz Lower Elementary, creating a cozy, inviting space where students can relax and enjoy reading during library time.
This project is more than just a place to sit—it’s a space that encourages a love for reading, imagination, and peaceful moments in the school day. We’re so proud of Eli’s hard work, leadership, and dedication to making a difference in his community! 🐊📚
Eli would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to his family, his friends from his troop, and Russell Moore Lumber for generously donating supplies and time to help bring this project to life. Ouachita Parish Schools
